Rev. Paul Ross led in the service
at Knox United Church and

Even Me was sung.
Rev. Ross gave the prayers
which were followed by the choral
response. He had conversation with
the children about Lent and Ryan
McClinchey put out the first candle
for Lent. The children's chorus was
sung.
Alleluia was sung. Rev. Ross
read the scriptures followed by
hymn What a Friend We have in
Jesus.
Rev. Ross chose for his sermon
"Tempting!" He also gave the
prayers of thanks and concern and

inspiring service, the readings,
prayers and hymns may assist in
bringing peace into this troubled
world.
After the worship service the
Londesboro ladies served delicious
desserts.

for the church school by Michael
Bean and Leanne Vincent, then
dedicated in song.
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced
the Benediction and the singing of
Amens concluded the service.
Due to inclement weather the
January and February meetings of
the Walkerbum Club were held on
Feb. 20 at Ruth McClinchey's
home. The president, Vera
Penfound, opened the meeting with
a New Year's prayer. A reading
"Grandma's Apron" was then given
by Ethel Ball. This recalled many
memories.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and approved and the
treasurer Ruth McClinchey, gave
her report.
Letters regarding Christmas gifts,
donations to several organizations
were also read. Ethel Ball won the
draw donated by Betsy Verwey.
Vera Penfound had brought three
dozen eggs which were purchased
by members and money received
was donated to the club.
A newspaper report on the TV
show Liberty Street was read by
Vera. The reporter was not pleased
with it. Some club members had
also seen some of it and could not ,
see that it would be of assistance to
young people. Letters showing
displeasure might be helpful.
Betsy Verwey brought enough
quilt blocks to make three quilts.
These were divided between three
members to be sewn together.
The next meeting will be a
quilting bee at Vera Penfound's
home. Bernice Norman and Kay
Lapp will be in charge of the
program and Betty Archambault
and Betsy Verwey will be lunch
convenors.
A reading "Learned in
Kindergarten" was given by Vera.
Ruth then invited everyone to the
table and a delicious lunch was
served and a social half hour
enjoyed.
