This was the message brought to Blyth council at its regular meeting of Feb. 20. Diane Beattie, the general man- ager for the Central Region, which is this area, and Paul Pastirik attended the meeting to provide a brief overview of the progress to install a gas line. The intent is to bring gas up from Clinton to Teeswater and across to Brussels. Young people from the Blyth area and across Ontario are joining World Vision Canada's 30 Hour Famine to help end poverty and suffering around the world. Participants will go without food for 30 hours on Feb. 25 and 26 while raising money to support World Vision's relief and development programs. Councillor Scrimgeour said council would look into it immedi- ately. "We don't want this to go on and on." Reeve Mason Bailey said," If there is a motion on the book that the village is giving the festival a grant then we are committed to pay."
