Sales at Brussels Livestock for
the week ending Jan. 13 were: fed
cattle, 568; cows, 353; veal calves,
193; sheep and goats, 60; stockers,
789; and pigs, light run.
The market at Brussels Livestock
saw fed steers and heifers selling
$2 - $4 higher. The DI and D2
cows sold on a strong $2 higher
with the canners and cutters selling
steady. Veal sold fully steady with
heavier calves selling under
pressure. Friday saw stockers
selling steady.
There were 329 steers on offer
selling from $98 to $102 to the
high of $109.50.. Two steers
consigned by David Bowles,
Brussels, averaging 1,303 lbs. sold
for an average of $107.71 with
sales to $109.50. Twenty steers
consigned by Howard Martin,
Brussels, averaging 1,417 lbs. sold
for an average of $101.45 with
