Members brought their quilts to the meeting to have their quilts' his- tory recorded for the new Tweedsmuir "Quilting" History Book. Pictures of the member and her quilt and the information known of who made it and what year, plus the material used, thread, batting and quilting stitches was included. Some of the quilts were 100 years old and many had been quilt- ed by the members. People in the community who would like to have their quilt's his- tory recorded may be included in the book. Quilting is everyone's history not just the Women's Insti- tute. Secretary Jennie Dekker read the correspondence from FWIO Presi- dent Donna Russett and from the office. The FWIO theme for 1995 is "Communicate". As April 29 is Awareness Day, WI members were asked to do something to mark the day.
