Walton Public School news Class studies ice sculptures The news from Compiled by Patty Banks Phone 887-6860 Seasonal gatherings enjoyed by families "Calling all cars!... Call all cars!... Be on the look out for a brown gingerbread man standing 39 cm. tall and 25 cm. wide. He is unarmed and considered delicious. His face is decorated with smarties. If you see someone matching this description please notify anyone in the JK and SK class!" It happened last week with the B Kindergarten class (attending Mondays and Wednesdays) made a-- gingerbread man and other cookies and put them in the oven to bake. When Miss Jewitt, teacher of the class, went to check on them she found the gingerbread man miss- ing. He had left a note and said that he was lonely in there and wanted to get out and look for friends. He also took the cookies. The kids frantically looked all over for clues of his whereabouts. No luck. They A combination birthday and New Year's Eve party was held at Don and Pat Nolans on Dec. 31. Don and Marilyn McDonald, Dorothy Sholdice, Marie and Neil McGavin, Audrey and Howard Hackwell, Anne and Jerry Ryan were all there to celebrate the occasion. It will certainly be a party that the group will remember. It seems that everyone but Don, wanted him to be older than he was meant to be. His birthday cake said, 'Happy 50th'. Pat said they all had a great laugh because Don won't be 50 until next January. Brandy Banks and Shannon Gibbon on Toronto on Dec. 27 - 30 where they stayed at the Holiday even made a trap for him. Well the next day the A Kindergarten class (Tuesdays and Thursdays) decided they would make a gingerbread man too. This time they put Mrs. Johns in charge of guarding the oven. But she had to leave to answer the phone and when she got back... Well, you guessed right, he was gone. The kids have looked everywhere. Some crumbs were reported to have been found in the Grade 3 room. The kids have been writing notes saying that they didn't want to eat him but wanted to be his friend. The next day the kids checked the trap and there they found the cookies and a note saying that he loved them and wanted to be their friend too, but he is having fun Inn Toronto Airport and attended Toe Alpha. Toc Alpha is an acronym for Taking On Concerns About Life, People, and Human Achievements and has existed for 38 years. It is a provincial youth run organization for people between the ages of 14 and 24. The main focus of Toc Alpha is the development of leadership skills in a drug and alcohol free environment. There were different speakers each day and all kinds of workshops to go to as well as recreation time. Brandy and Shannon both took CPR and attended massage therapy. Shannon went to the workshop on violence in the schools and Brandy running away from them. Everyone in Walton is asked to keep their eyes open for the missing pair. The kids in Mrs. Scott's Grade 3 class wished Agatha Wall Happy Birthday on the Jan. 5 and they also want Dana Smith to hurry and get over the chicken pox. If you happen to enter the school at the West entrance you will see some beautiful coloured ice sculptures. They were made by kids in Mrs. Bennett's Grade 1 class. They have been studying time and weather. The kids filled containers, with coloured water and then set them outside. They have been keeping track of how long it takes to freeze, etc. The big block took two days to freeze solidly. attended 'A Spokesperson for RAID', with Mark Donner as the speaker.
