A CHRISTMAS LONG AGO By Jason Veenstra Grade 8, Hullett Central P.S. Twas the night of Christmas Eve And we really had to leave The pumpkin pie was all gone It was ate by Uncle Don Everyone was tired, grandpa was too But we still had something to do All the children gathered round Not daring to make a single sound Grandpa sat in his favourite chair And opened the book with the greatest of care All the children listened in awe As he told of what the angels saw Long ago on a dark, dark night A star appeared bringing tremendous light Showing people where Jesus lay Fast asleep upon the sweet smelling hay. Everyone had something to bring To lay before their newborn King Each year as we celebrate his birth It unites people throughout the earth. SANTA CLAUS By Kurt Beuerman Grade 8, Hullett Central P.S. I was two years old and I got up Christmas Eve. Standing beside the Chrfstmas tree was a big fat man with a white beard and a red toque and a red coat. He had roscy checks, and tall black bools on his feet. He had told me his name was Santa Claus. He had a big bag filled with toys. He gave me a big green Santa elf doll. In the morning I told my mom what I had seen but I'm not sure she believed me but I know I had really seen Santa. MY LETTER TO SANTA By Pamela Morrison Grade 8, Hullett Central P.S. DEAR SANTA, This Christmas I don't want anything. I live in Auburn with my mom and brother. If I had any three wishes they would be: 1) world peace, 2) more people would be like you and give 3) nobody in the world would ever go hungry or be cold. I think it is very kind of you to give to everybody and never take like some people in the world. Talk to you next year. From, Pamela. FLUFFY THE PUPPY By David Schultz Grade 8, Hullett Central P.S. Fluffy is sleep and starts to yawn, so Fluffy the cute little puppy, sleeps on the lawn. THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS By Kevin Trewartha Grade 8, Hullett Central P.S. It was the night before Christmas, And all through the house, Everyone was sleeping, Even the mouse. The children were sleeping, snuggled in their bed, And Santa was sleeping while his reindeer were fed, Mrs. Claus woke up Santa with a shove, It was time to deliver the presents with love. In the bag, Santa put the very last doll, He climbed into the sleigh, careful not to fall, He said to his reindeer, "We had better get going, We must get this done before the moon stops glowing." Santa was sleepy by the time he was done, We wish all of our customers and friends a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
