Dove describes Jesus’ birth SPECIAL NIGHT By Darlene Hemingway Grey Central P.S. As I, a snow white dove, gracefully flew across the dry, hot, sand I noticed a small donkey with one passenger begin led by a young man. The passenger was a lady that, to me, looked like she was going to have a baby soon. They slowly trotted along the dusty, dirt road in silence. I thought nothing of them, just another couple on their way to be counted. But something was different about this couple. I was fascinated with the bright glow around their heads. I had never seen anything as beautiful or unreal yet as real as this. It seemed almost like, yes, like a beam from heaven was shining down on them. Almost like God had a shield of steel armor surrounding them and their donkey. I could understand why? They looked like ordinary people to a small dove like myself. When the couple finally made it to Bethlehem. They asked many innkeepers for a place to stay. The woman let out a cry and the man begged the next innkeeper for a room but he said, "There are no rooms left in all of Bethlehem. I do have a stable back behind the inn where you can stay. I won't promise any comfort though." The man happily replied, "We will take it. The animals will keep the stable warm." The couple quickly approached the stable in the back. The lady let out a second cry as the man helped her down into straw. She was having the baby, all right. A little while later I perched myself on a ledge in the bam. I saw a radiant baby lying in the manger wrapped in a cloth. He was so silent and so precious. I had never seen a baby had so pure and innocent. Now, the child had an even brighter almost blinding glow surrounding his whole body. I would have never thought a baby born in such dirt and filth could be so perfect and signals as this. Suddenly a ray of light from heaven shone down on the infant. 1 saw shepherds coming near to him. One offered a lamb as a gift to the baby. The man accepted it. The lamb stared in awe at the splendor of the child. The shepherds knelt before him covering their blinding eyes. A shepherd cried out, "Glory to God!" Many replied, "Praise be to God. Our Saviour has been born tonight!" I flew around the newborn not knowing why. I was filled with peace and exultation. God's son had been bom to save the world on this special night.
