How do?
Poems tell of happy family gatherings
DEAR SANTA,
My wish for the world is love.
My wish for the school is more
students. My wish for my family is
more perfume for my mom. For my
dad I will give him a house trailer. I
would like books for Christmas.

A FAMILY CHRISTMAS
By Ashley Gropp
Grade 8, Brussels P.S.
The little children get up at seven
or eight,
After they wait for hours, their
parents begin to wake.
They all grab their stockings on
the way down the stairs.
Everybody grabs a bite of the
breakfast waiting down there.
Then the parents glow with pride
As they open a present from a
child.
When it's the children's turn the
paper flies,
And the air fills with joyous cries
Of happy kids, their faces lit,
their mouths turned up a bit.
Soon all you would hear would be
the toys;
The drums and the kids make so
much noise.
When all this was done, they
gathered on the street
And sang carols to those they
meet
And as they always say to their
friends
That this Christmas was the best
one yet!

CHRISTMAS

Snow covered trees, with lights
burning bright,
Christmas Eve is a magical night,
Children excited, oh what a thrill,
Pressing their noses against
frosty window sill.
Mom and Dad talking
whispers,
Grandma bustling in her
bedroom slippers,
The house was decorated with
ribbons and holly,
Waiting for Santa who is always
so jolly.
CHRISTMAS IS...
By Amanda Leger
Grade 8, Brussels P.S.
Christmas is a house glistening in
the snow,
Christmas is kids drinking hot
cocoa you know.
Christmas is carollers singing in
the street,
Christmas is walking around the
house in bare feet.
Christmas is for giving and
sharing with friends,
Christmas is buying clothes in
women's or men's.
Christmas is thinking and
considering others,
Christmas is getting something for
my mom, dad, and brothers.

Neighbours and friends, dropping
in for a visit,
Wishing us all a Merry Christmas
and bringing a present,
Childhood memories, to have and
to hold,
We will always remember them as
we grow old.

Christmas is a magical time,
So many people are loving and
kind.
Going shopping with my mom
Buying presents for everyone.
Slippers for dad, a car for Lee,
I'll have to hide so they won't see.
Decorating the house with lots of
lights
For people to see when they drive
by at night.

sleeping peacefully and all a
sudden I heard a person yelling for
help. I got out of bed and went to
see what happened. What I got in
he living room, I thought I heard
he yelling coming from the
chimney. I looked in the chimney
and saw a large person. It was
Santa. I asked him "What are you
doing up there?"
"I was coming, down the chimney
and I got stuck, so hurry up and get
me out of here!" yelled Santa.
"How?" I asked.
"Just pull on my legs!" said
Santa.
"O.K. here I go!" I said. 1, 2, 3
pull. "How's that?" I mumbled.
"Well it hurl, but I'm finally out!"
exclaimed Santa.
"Now can I have my presents
please?" I requested.
"I guess so. Here they are but you
can't open them till morning!" said
Santa.
"O.K. I promise!" I said to him.
"Well I better be going now. Can
you help me get on my way so I
don't have any more accidents?"
exclaimed Santa.
"Yes, I can do that for you," I
said.
When I finally got Santa on his
way I went to bed thinking and
hoping Santa would get home
safely and I think he will.
