Spectators Welcome After considerable discussion and obtaining a letter from the board solicitor, the Clinton Pubic Hospi tal Board approved a policy for notifying former patients with regards to the risks of an HIV con taminated blood supply, from 1978 to 1985. The hospital will undertake a general look-back program which will involve corresponding directly to patients who received blood or blood products during those years. Included in the letter will be information concerning HIV as well as a suggestion that the patients should contact their family physician to be tested for possible exposure to Hepatitis C. The board approved renovations to the admitting area, at a cost of $2,550. The changes are aimed at improving patient confidentiality. Other purchases approved by the board include a new telephone sys tem through Bell Canada, a flexible cystoscope at a cost of $11,545 and a warming cupboard in the amount of $3,236.75. The financial statements show the hospital has accumulated a year-to-date surplus of $75,046.78, $27,581.05 occurring in October.
