who was the guest speaker. She
showed how to paint wooden

first coat to dry, Michael Sanders
read the minutes of the last meeting
and members were given a copy of
their cover page for the members'
manual.
Next, Melody showed some
techniques for shading the apples to
give them depth. She showed how

Let it snow!
As winter’s icy grip descends,
parents and students are reminded
to tune a cool ear to CKNX (AM
920 and FM 102) when the weather
is uncertain and buses may be
cancelled or school closed.
Generally, once the students have
arrived we try to keep the school
open for the day. Experience would
indicate that road crews try extra
hard to make the bus routes
passable in time for regular closing.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, the
Grades 5-8 had a meeting in the
music room. The meeting was
about the activities planned for the
last week of school. Activities
include: a famine on Wednesday,
Dec. 14 - the Grade 6/7 class is
organizing this. Grades 5 to 8 are
invited to participate. Some people
may think - Won't the kids get just
a little hungry? Well they may, but
at lunch a small bowl of soup along
with a few soda crackers will be
served. All the money being raised
will go to Ronald McDonald
Children's Charities. If you have
any concerns or questions please
contact the school.
On Dec. 7, the Grade 6/7 and 7/8
classes attended a concert at F. E.
Madill. They saw two different
choirs and three different bands.
Everyone said it was excellent!
The BPS Junior Choir sang a

Clinton on Sunday, Dec. 11. We
congratulate them for a job well
done.
Thank you to the students who
collected $134.25 for UNICEF.
Thank you also to our Book Fair
supporters. From the profit sharing
plan we now have $120 worth of
books as well as a cash return of
$172. This money will be used to
purchase books for the library.
We'd also like to thank Mr.
Wanless for donating a Christmas
tree to the school.
Last of all, we'd like to thank
Shannon McGavin and Gary
Martin for all their help at the
school as well as our volunteers
this fall.
We regret to inform you that the
Parent's Association did not make
$250. They served 250 pieces of
pizza. Sorry for the mix-up. See
you next week!
