Following that, he spent some time visiting with youngsters and passing out treats at The Ark. Gallery shows work of 32 artists Wroxeter Santa The Bainton Gallery at Blyth Memorial Hall is brimming with art as the community show called "Celebration 1994" takes over the space until Dec. 18. The show features 56 pieces from 34 artists, most from Huron Coun ty. Included are photography, water colour, oil and acrylic paintings, petit point, pottery, wood carving and mixed media works. The show opened Sunday night to an invited audience. Guests were entertained by the Ken Varley Trio. In his remarks Ron Walker, one of the show's organizing committee members, noted Celebration marked the beginning of the 20th anniversary of the gallery. He recalled when "a very intense young man knocked on my door" and said he was organizing a sum mer theatre in Blyth and would like to have an art display as part of the festival. The "intense young man" was James Roy, Festival founder. Bev Walker, who helped orga nize those first displays in the base ment of Memorial Hall and later in the former Vodden's Grocery Store and the small gallery in the north wing of Memorial Hall said the dis plays might have been a side-line to the theatre but over the years they have become an integral part of the Festival. Organizing the show for the art gallery committee of the Blyth Centre for the Arts were Carol McDonnell, Jo Manning and Ron Walker, of Blyth and Jane Stryker of Auburn.
