first loss of season
The Brussels Crusaders split
weekend action and now hold a
tour win, one loss record in WOAA
Senior A hockey action.

lead, increased it to 5-0 after 40
minutes, then ended a three goal
Crusaders rally in the third by
scoring with five minutes
remaining. Brian TenPas scored
twice for Brussels and set up Corey
McKee for the third goal while
Brent Vandenakker and Dave
Murray each recorded two assists.
Derek Cooper took the loss facing
43 shots. The game, played in two
hours, saw only five minor
penalties called.
Sunday night in Brussels J.C.
Hewitt opened the scoring, then set
up the next three leading the
Crusaders to a 5-1 win over
Palmerston. Corey McKee enjoyed
a two goal, one assist game while
Brent Vandenakker and Dean
Wheeler, shorthanded, completed
the scoring.
Brussels held a 3-0 first period
lead and added two more midway
through the final period. Trevor
Fortune lost his shutout bid with
less than five minutes remaining on
the clock.
The Crusaders’ next game is at
home Sunday night at 7:30 p.m.

As well the Brussels Senior
Hockey Club sends its sympathy to
the Stephenson Family on the
