Opening the office Dr. Janet Zettel, left, and Business Administator Gwen Devereaux were kept very busy on Nov. 10 and 11 as they opened the new doctors' offices at the Brussels-Seaforth Medical Clinic, in Brussels. Brussels welcomes new doctors to centre WI enjoys leisurely meeting The Brussels community now has two doctors within a short walk or drive. Dr. Janet Zettel and Dr. Mark Woldnik opened their practice at the Brussels-Seaforth Medical Clinic on Nov. 10 to a very good response. "I was scheduled to have only one patient on both Thursday and Friday morning and ended up seeing five each day," says Dr. Zettel. "The community has been very friendly and helpful. The reception has been good," she says. Both doctors are reasonably new to the area: Dr. Zettel having arrived just a few months ago and Dr. Woldnik opening the office in Seaforth three years ago. "We have been interested in opening an office in Brussels for Legion crib teams do well well at Exeter tournament By Sandra Josling The Brussels Legion sent two teams to the Zone C-l cribbage tournament that was held in Exeter. Representing the Branch was Eric Ross, Ross Brighton, Margo Richardson and Bob Richardson (team one) and Frank Stretton, John Harrison, Lisa Glanville and Sandra Josling (team two). Both teams had great starts but couldn't get the one extra win they needed to qualify for District play. Seaforth Branch were the overall winners with a 15 win 3 loss total. On Nov. 5 the Branch headed out on a mystery tour. The bus made its first slop in Kincardine and after a short stay headed to Hanover. On the way home they dropped in on the Wingham Branch. All participating enjoyed the day and the fellowship found between the Branches. Results of the Blind draw mixed darts are as follows: finishing first after breaking the four way lie was the team of Lisa Glanville, Larry Nclhcry and Sandra Josling; second place, Colleen Adams, John Harrison and Dini Nclhcry; high shooters, Rob Willie (125) and Kathey Cochrane (100). Dr. Ken Rodney, a general sur­ geon, is also a member of the Brus­ sels-Seaforth Medical Clinic staff, but will not have regular office hours in Brussels. Results of the euchre held on Nov. 9 are as follows: high scores, Gord Jacklin and Martha Logan; low scores, Verna Tunney and Cathy Snyder; most lone hands, Nancy Coyne and Ernie Back; most zeros, Helen Dobson and Kitty Rutledge. The next euchre will be held on Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. Men's darts are held at the Branch on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. If you are interested in playing arrive al least 15 minutes earlier. An invitation to join Gorrie WI on Nov. 16 at 8:15 p.m. to hear a lawyer speak on Power of Attorney. The committee for the card party on Dec. 6 is Jean Fraser, Jane DeVries, Sandra Clark and Dorothy Steffler. Kathy Bridge is to attend a workshop on "Boost Your Bucks". A PRO workshop was held on Nov. 7 at Fordwich, which Ruth Bauer attended. It brought out ideas on reports and how they should be set up. County Rally was reported on by Kathy Bridge. Jean Fraser and Kathy Bridge gave a report on the Area Convention held in October. Rebekahs look for speakers The regular meeting of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge No. 315 Brussels took place on Nov. 8 with Noble Grand Jane Hall presiding. There was a good attendance. Once again the Variety Fair was reported successful. A donation was made to the Brussels Santa Claus parade committee. The United National Pilgrimage Skateathon this Saturday The Brussels Figure & Power Skating Club will be holding its annual Skateathon this Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at the B.M. & G. arena, headed up this year by Lyn Jutzi. Refresh­ ments and snacks will be served during the hourly breaks with hot dogs at noon followed by the presentation of prizes. The roll call - What do you enjoy doing when you work is done? was answered by the members. Jane White read the motto, "Leisure is your time of your life." Leona Armstrong introduced the guest speaker Margueritte Thomas. Mrs. Thomas started her speech with the quote, "When cooking up a speech, make sure to use lots of shortening". She informed the ladies of a bus going to London to a Breast Screening Clinic on Nov. 28. Numerous activities and projects were mentioned that are going on in this area such as Living Well, Stress Management and Caring for Confidence. There is an Adult Health Clinic held on the first Wednesday of the month where foot care and blood pressure is done. A diabetic meeting will be held for Youth Speak-off is being sponsored. This speak-off, open to students between the ages of 16 to 18, is being held on the first Friday of MarcK The winner received an all-expense paid trip to New York and the United Nations. All area high schools are being supplied with information. Members mourn the passing of serve as ice cruisers and will keep the skaters going with games and activities. Area businesses have made financial donations as well as contributed supplies and prizes towards this worthwhile cause. Ruth Sauve and Yvonne Knight served angel cake with ice cream following the closing of the meeting.
