Morris Twp. proceeds with CNR survey The process by which Morris Twp. may purchase the abandoned CNR land took another step towards completion at the Oct. 18 meeting. Council accepted the quote sub­ mitted by Archibald, Gray, Mac­ Kay Land Surveyors to survey the land. Landowners affected by the sur­ vey costs will be notified by mail. Council agreed that a letter con­ cerning the rezoning of the CNR land, from Neil and Linda Warwick and David, Keith and Bonnie John­ ston would be dealt with once the land was purchased. Rowe Croskill, John Campbell and Mabel Wheeler were appointed trustees for the McCrae Well sys­ tem, to Dec. 31 and a recommenda­ tion was made to reappoint them to a three year term in December. Sterling Marking Products will provide the township with 400 brass dog tags for 1995. Councillor John Duskocy was appointed to sit on the North Huron Development Committee to draft the jobsOntario grant application for Union Gas. The tender submitted by George Radford Construction for snow removal was accepted by council. The cost will be $55 per hour of snow removal and $30 per day standby. Trees have been replanted at the landfill site and the steel pipe has been removed. Council discussed a request, by the Elstons to the MTO, for guard rails to be placed at Lot 6, Cone. 2/3. The Massey tractor is receiving a new clutch, as approved by council. Council approved the issuance of a building permit to Arnold Egli for an implement shed addition. The application for severance of the Wattam property at Lot 5, Cone. 3, was denied by the county. Council requested the owner of a manure tank being constructed at Lot 25, Cone. 7 to install a liner in the lagoon and to drill test wells to monitor it. Deputy-Reeve Clem McLellan, Road Superintendent Lloyd Michie and Clerk-Treasurer Nancy Michie were recommended to the 911, committee. A softcover copy of 100 Years of Good Roads will be purchased for the township office. Council approved the purchase of 500 township pens at a cost of $1.10 each. That is what happened last Wednesday at Duff's United Church where over 600 people were served. A lot of workers left that evening feeling worn out, but very thankful that the people from all over came out to support the church's main fundraiser.
