Couple marries in fairy tale wedding
Amanda Snell and Bradley
Aitken were united in marriage at 4
p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 1994 at
St. Paul's Anglican Church in
Clinton. Reverend Gordon Redden
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Glenyce and Richard Snell of
Blyth, Ontario and the groom is the
son of Carole Aitken of London,
Ontario and Paul and Diane Aitken
of Clinton, Ontario.
The matron of honour was Jayne
Marquis, sister of the bride. The
bridesmaids were Jacqueline Ram-
mcloo, Joanne Flockton, Nancy
Taylor, Pamela Vanderhoevan,
Lloyann Adams and Sandy Henry.
The best man was Billy Arm
strong, friend of the groom. Ushers
were Greg Aitken, Matt Smyth,
Franklin Snell, Richard Snell, Greg
Wright, and Mike Henry.
Organist, Mary Anne Hogan
accompanied Renee Slalenhoef,
friend of the family who was an
opera singer in Europe. The St.
Augustine Angels also sang
beautifully, A White New World
from Aladdin. Tim Eaton,
Kincardine played the trumpet.
It was a beautiful ceremony.
The bride's dress was of pure
Thai silk, handmade in Bangkok. It
was decorated with seed pearls and
iridescent sequins with silk roses
adorning the shortened front. The
12 foot train was beautifully
decorated with handmade petAls of
silk. The silk tulle veil was hand
decorated with an outline of
iridescent sequins and held with a
tiara made of swarovsky crystal
and pearls.
Christine Moore of Denomme's
Flowers did a magnificent job of
the floral decorations. The bride's
bouquet was a traditional cascade
of orchids, dendrobium, roses and
lilies. The bridesmaids' bouquets
were similar.
The bridesmaids wore fit and
flare dresses of pure silk chiffon in
black, designed by the Canadian

designer Wayne Clarke.
The groom and groomsmen
chose classic black tuxedos.
After the ceremony the guests
returned to the bride's parents home
where champagne and hors d'
oeuvres were immediately served
with a four-piece orchestra playing
in the background. The home was
beautifully decorated with many
tents, fountains, tiny lights, and
flowers floating in the pool.
After many pictures were taken
the dinner began which was an
experience itself. Many foods from
all over the world were served.
Following the dinner, an eight
piece orchestra played for the
wedding reception, which was held
in tents. It was truly a fairy tale
wedding.
The newlyweds honeymooned
for three weeks in Europe visiting
France, Italy and Austria where
they glacier skied.
Amanda and Bradley Aitken now
reside in Blyth, Ontario.
