The following week, on Wednes­ day, parent-teacher conferences have been scheduled. There will be no school on that day so that all parents may attend pre-arranged meetings with their children's teachers. These conferences follow closely the distribution of interim report cards. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will provide refreshments throughout the day. Friday, Oct. 21, featured a PTA meeting at 8 p.m. The. meeting began with a dessert social (provided by the PTA board) which was followed by the introduction of the speaker, Craig Ciinningham, who is presently serving as an interim pastor at the Vanastra Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Craig spoke to the parents of his own early struggles with the concept of Christian education. He challenged all those (especially from the Christian Reformed tradition) that have learned to love and to depend on Christian day schools to understand Christians from many other denominations and traditions that have not been convinced of such a need. He encouraged his listeners to continue to spread the news about the availability of Christian elementary and secondary education to all Christians. Following his talk, Deb Damsma chaired a brief PTA meeting. Following the minutes of the last annual meeting, the treasurer reported and elections were held for new officers.
