4-Hers begin baking club
By Sarah McLellan
Thirteen members and two
leaders opened the Cranbrook
4-Hers new project, Batter Up, with
the 4-H pledge. The meeting was
held on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.
After the pledge was recited, a
"What's What?" game of baking
utensils followed. We then
proceeded to elect our slate of
officers. They are: president,
Kendra Fischer; vice president,
Cass Boyd; secretary, Kerry Blake;
press reporter, Sarah McLellan.
The majority of the meeting was
filled with the baking of veggie
squares and two different variations
of fudgy brownies. The meeting
ended with the tasting of our
creations and a drink.
Along with the regular members*
of our club, three new members
joined. Welcome to Nikki Hallman,
Nicki Lowe and Amber Park.
The next meeting will be held on
Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
