New Guides "K New Year" enrollment was held at the Belgrave Community Centre on Thursday, Oct. 20 when four eager girls were enrolled into the 1st Belgrave Girl Guide company. Guides host Halloween party The 1st Belgrave Girl Guides held their enrolment ceremony for their Tenderfoots October 20. New Guides were: Courtney Bakker, Jenni Hopf, Kerri Meier, and Michelle Nixon. Following their theme of "A New Year" Leaders and Guides renewed their Guide Promise. On Oct. 27 the Belgrave Guides and Brownies will be hosting a Community Halloween Party at the Belgrave arena for the Belgrave and area children, preschool to Grade 8. Costume judging begins at 7 p.m. sharp with festivities 68 play euchre The euchre tournament, sponsored by the Belgrave Arena Board, was held last Friday night at the Belgrave Complex with 17 tables in play. Winners were: high couple, Bill and Ruth Jenkins, 77; tied for second and third, Ross and Irma Brighton, and Audrey Edgar and Marie Stewart, 76; 50/50 prize money, $57, Carman Pollock. The next euchre tournament will be Friday evening, Nov. 18 at the Belgrave Complex. Doors open at 7 p.m. and cards start sharp at 8 p.m. Nine tables of euchre were in play at the WI Hall, Belgrave. Winners were: ladies' high, Jane Grasby; ladies' second high, Helen Martin; ladies' most lone hands, Joyce McKnight; ladies' low, Agnes Bieman; men's high, Thom Pheiffer; men's second high, George Inglis; men's most lone hands, John King; men's low, Mel Jacklin. There will be euchre again Wednesday evening, Oct. 26 in the WI Hall starting al 8 p.m. The next shoot party will be Friday, Oct. 28 starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Belgrave Complex. People Mr. and Mrs. Glen Van Camp and Mr. and Mrs. John McIntosh enjoyed a worship service al the Bluevale United Church presented by the Glamis Choir on Sunday, Oct. 16. John and Marie McIntosh and Miss Heather McIntosh attended the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Scnouten in Woodstock this past weekend. ending at 9 p.m. The 1st Belgrave Brownies met at East Wawanosh Public School on Oct. 20. The Tweenies made a mobile in order to help them learn the "Promise". The second and third year Brownies divided into three groups in order to make scrapbooks. They will be learning all about China, England and Australia. All the girls looked at kitchen utensils and their uses because they are working on their cook badges. Last Sunday Miranda Jacobs, infant daughter of Roy and Nancy Jacobs, Kitchener was baptized at Highland Road United Church in Kitchener. Attending were grandparents Richard and Norma TOWNSHIP OF GREY CANDIDATES MEETING A meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 1st at 8:00 p.m. in the Ethel Community Centre to provide the ratepayers of the Township of Grey an opportunity to meet the candidates for the upcoming municipal election.
