Bernardo and Keri Orozco Wheelers wed in Sarnia Newlyweds reside in London OROZCO -BACHERT With the blessings of the Lord, and their parents, Dale and Starr Bachert, Blyth, Bemardo Orozco By John Schedler The big news in home video this week is of course the release of Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park ***1/2 (MCA/Universal - $26.95 or less). This tale of dinosaurs brought back to life and running amok on a tropical island theme park delivers everything it promises. Despite a rather weak story, once these mammoth creatures make their appearance the movie delivers almost two hours of hair-raising thrills with state of the art special effects and, for you home theatre enthusiasts, a Dolby surround soundtrack that will rattle your walls. Available in both widescreen and regular format on vidcocassette and laserdisc. (Rated PG-13) Although it received mixed reviews I really enjoyed Being Human ***1/2 (Warner), a epic fable that follows one reincarnated soul from caveman to a modern New York urbanite. Robin Williams is remarkably restrained and he absolutely shines in his film. Directed by Bill Forsyth (Local Hero). (Rated PG-13) In the classic movie department is the 25th anniversary edition of Midnight Cowboy **** (MGM/UA $19.95) the only X rated film to ever with an Academy Award for Best Picture as well as awards to screenwriter Waldo Salt and director John Schlesinger. The story follows a hayseed (Jon Voight) who heads to New York to be a stud and ends up on skid row with his only friend being a seedy small time conman (Dustin Hoffman). This anniversary edition boasts a new Dolby soundtrack, an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary of the making of the film, the original 1969 theatrical trailer and the 1994 re-issue trailer. (This is the original X- Ratcd version running 113 minutes.) With the release in theatres this week of Ed Wood, director Tim Burton's homage to a man many have labeled as the worst director of all time, Rino Home Video is offering The Ed Wood Collection. The anchor for this package of films is Look Back in Angora *1/2 (Rino), a marginal documentary that seems to be as ineptly made as any of Ed Wood's feature films. While Plan 9 from Outer Space * (Rino) has been labeled, "the worst movie ever made" by the authors of "the Golden Turkey Awards" I've seen a few' recent big budget films that arc more deserving of the award than Wood's low' budget sci-fi nonsense. As for the other Ed Wood films (available from various sources) like Jailbail, The Violent Years, Orgy Of The Dead, Night of the Ghouls, Glen or Glenda and Bride of The Monster well, each one is bound to offer a few good laughs, in all (he wrong places of course.
