Mrs. Walker uses mixed media to create her fanciful pieces, while Mr. Walker's figurative and landscape works are done in oil, acrylics, watercolour and various drawing media. Students hear choir With the municipal elections just a few weeks away, the trustees for the Huron County Board of Educa­ tion were asked to declare their intentions, at the Oct. 3 meeting. ONTARIO YOUTH CHOIR By Tammy Walker On Sept. 28 the Grade 7/8 classes went to the Ontario Youth Choir at lhe Blyth Theatre. The choir was excellent and inspiring to our HCBE selects students as peer representatives High school student representa­ tives have been chosen from the five county schools to attend Huron County Board of Education meet­ ings and supply another perspec­ tive. The role of the students is still being finalized, however they will be allowed to ask questions of trustees at the board meetings and present the students' concerns. Sharon Godkin of the Walton area, an OAC student, will repre­ sent Seaforth DHS. She hopes to pursue a career in business after university graduation. Other representatives are Mark Steffler of Teeswater, F.E. Madill; Liam Whalen of Goderich, God­ erich DCI; Julie Steckle of Zurich, Central Huron SS; Aaron Gardiner of Usborne Twp. and Christina Parker of Exeter, both for South Huron DHS. All of the representatives are OAC students and were selected by their peers. school choir. I found it amazing how young they were. Not only were the singers fantastic but the piano player made up for a whole orchestra. The conductor was interesting and funny at the same lime. From him, we learned how to improve our singing as well as the history of all lhe songs. The choir had a range of music from the Renaissance to Yankee Doodle as well as Mozart and Handel. The choir came from all over Ontario to perform one great concert. Graduation Tracy Finch, RR 1, Ethel recently graduated from Fanshawe College, London as a legal assistant.
