Place in slow cooker and add sauce: 1 large onion 1 tsp. dry mustard powder 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. salt 2/3 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp, molasses 1/2 cup corn syrup 1/2 lb bacon,cut into 1” cubes Cover with tomato or V-8 juice and cook 5-6 hours. AGRIC ULTURE Open 7 days a week 887-6883 FIERY CURRY SAUCE FOR PASTA In a large microwave dish, stir together 2 large chopped Ontario Apples, 3 cups spaghetti sauce, 3 sliced celery stalks, 2 sliced green onions and 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. curry powder. Cook, uncovered, on High for 10 min., stirring halfway through. Stir in 1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream if you like. Makes 5 cups. APPLE BUNDT CAKE 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 cups flour 1 cup dairy sour cream 2 eggs 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples Glaze 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp, butter 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 cup evaporated milk Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour, sour cream, eggs, baking powder, soda and vanilla. Beat three minutes. Prepare the apples and set aside. Grease and lightly flour a bundt pan. Spread half of the batter in the pan. Sprinkle with half of the sugar and cinnamon mixture,then add chopped apples and sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture. Spread remaining batter over top. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until cake begins to pull away from sides of pan. Glaze: Mix all ingredients together over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cook cake slightly and remove from pan. SCALLOPED ZUCCHINI 4 cups sliced, cooked, peeled & drained zucchini 2/3 cup evaporated milk 1 -10 oz. can Cream of Mushroom Soup 2 tbsp, onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 cup shredded cheese 1/2 cup bread crumbs 2 tbsp, melted butter Put zucchini in baking dish. Combine milk, soup, onion, oregano and salt. Pour over zucchini. Sprinkle cheese on top. Put buttered bread crumbs over cheese. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese. Toast 12 slices baguette in 450°F oven 3 min. Spoon apple mixture on top. Cover with additional shredded Cheddar. Continue baking about 5 min. or until cheese melts. For each quart of beets, allow 11/2 cups of brown sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 3/4 cup table vinegar, and 3/4 cup water in which beets were boiled. Heat beets in this mixture until it boils. Filling: 4 cups rhubarb 2 tbsp, corn starch 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup water Bring to a boil, add 1 - 3 oz. pkg. of strawberry jello. Mix until thick. Cool slightly and pour over crumb mixture.
