Brewers dump Tigers
The throw from one Bluevale player to his teammate on first, was there in plenty of time wit
the runner on the Brussels team no where in sight. The two teams faced off in the Pre-mite
tournament held in Brussels this past Saturday. Bluevale went on to win the A, while Belmore
captured the B.
The tradition continues as the
Brussels Tigers once again find
themselves eliminated in opening
round playoff action.
Despite losing only 17 of 76
Huron County Fastball League
games in their history the Tigers
have won only four of 12 attempts
in playoff action.
This season Brussels finished
with a 10-4-1 record but were
officially eliminated by the Walton
Brewers after a 5-1 loss Friday
night.
Monday night saw the Tigers
score six, fifth inning runs enroute
to a 7-6 scries opening win. Gary
Pipe batted two for three, including
a bases loaded triple, while Ken

while Ken Ball enters his second
year as manager. Mr. Pettigrew will
be assisted by Charlie Smith, plus
Mike Henry, a former Junior C

Mr. Pettigrew says, "Our big hole
to fill is in net. Scott Walls got
drafted and Art Houghton has gone
overage so we will be looking al
the two rookie goalies." But, the
Bulls' Coach added, "We could
have 10 to 13 players returning so
it shouldn't take as long to get a
system in place."
The Bulls had trouble scoring

admits some veterans arc going to
have to put up some belter numbers
if the club is to once again chal
lenge for the league championship.
