game of volleyball. The event was part of the annual Belgrave and District Kinsmen ball
tournament held this past weekend
R. Rooney celebrates 80th
The family of Mrs. Rosella
Rooney held an 80th birthday party
for their mother on Saturday
evening, July 9 at the WI Hall,
Belgrave.
Fifty-two relatives sat down to a
delicious beef dinner prepared and
served by Mrs. Debbie Reid,
Belgrave. A large crowd of friends
and neighbours came to bring
special birthday wishes to Rosella
at an open house and dance
following after the meal.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smart of
Waskada, Manitoba and her sister
Mrs. Larry Ellis of Whitevale,
Ontario were Wednesday visitors
with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse.
In the afternoon other nieces and
nephews calling at the same home
were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker of
Goderich, their daughter Mrs. Greg
Stewart of Scottsdale, Arizona and
their grandson David Walker of
Woodstock, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Coultes, Mrs. Glenn Coultes and
Mrs. Thelma Pletch.

Woodstock visited Wednesday
afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Cook.
On June 29 Justin Campbell, son
of John and Linda Campbell
celebrated his 11th birthday.
Attending the occasion were Curtis
Knight, Jason Fear, Tyler Fenton,
Craig Marks, Travis Campbell,
Matthew Wall, Matthew Campbell
and Justin's brother, Jeremy.
The children had fun playing
baseball as well as other games.
After a barbecue lunch they
amused themselves at the Wingham
pool.
The 72nd Bentley Reunion was
held at Zion Lutheran Church,
Stratford on Sunday, July 10.
Those present from this area were
Mrs. Dorothy Logan, Mrs. Hilda
Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Vincent and granddaughter,
Margaret Vincent.
Visiting at the home of Mrs.
Elizabeth Procter were Mrs. Philip
Stopforth and daughter Alexandrea
of Oakville, Mrs. Peggy Stopforth
of Liverpool, England, Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Hill, RR 1, Tavistock.

75 attend Procter reunion
Seventy-five Procter relatives
held their annual reunion on
Sunday, July 10 at the WI Hall,
Belgrave.
In charge of the games were
Arnold and Anne Spivey of
Belgrave, George and Amy Alton
of Lucknow. Following the games
all enjoyed a barbecue supper with
cold salads and desserts.
President George Procter
conducted the business meeting
with Secretary Kate Procter reading
the minutes of last year.
Relatives attended from England,
Australia, London, Seaforth,
Lucknow, Blyth, Brussels,
Belgrave and Ingersoll.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vipond of
Atwood, Miss Margaret Vipond
and Mrs. Annie Irwin of Atwood
called on Mrs. Ruth Johnston one
day last week.
Twenty-four Edgar relatives
gathered at the Belmore Com
munity Centre for their 46lh
reunion on Sunday, July 10. Games
were conducted by Lew and Nancy
Taylor of Kitchener which were
much enjoyed.
A smorgasbord supper was
enjoyed by all. David Ireland said
Grandpa Edgar's blessing.
Following the supper Mrs. Elva
