Mikko Mullus, a 16-year-old from Helsinki who is taking part in the International Youth Lions Exchange, is sponsored by the Goderich Lions Club. His hosts are Glen and Marie Webster of RR3 Aubum. Their son Shane took part in the exchange last year. During his stay in the area, the Webster family has planned outings to Pioneer Sports World in Kitch ener, Wonderland, Niagara Falls and a tour of Champion Road Machinery Ltd. in Goderich (the employer of Mr. Webster). Mikko will be attending a Lions camp in Chesley, for all the inter national exchange students, for one week beginning on the July 16. Since his arrival two weeks ago, Mikko has enjoyed a slo-pitch tour- nament, swimming and boating. He also experienced his first taste of cutting grass. He lives in an apart ment at home. Though he has seven years of English language training, Mikko says it is still very hard to under stand. "Your pronunciation is quite different," he says. He has had little time to absorb the differences between Canada and Finland, but he does say, "Canada has been hotter. It would be about 20 degrees in Finland." This week Kelly McDonald and Tina McClure take their turn; they will be attending Camp Menese- tung; and the following Sunday the last camper, Sarah McDonald will go. The Brubachers are moving from Walton at the end of the month and Ryan and Jennifer wanted to have one last party for all their friends so Jim and Laurie rented The Ark for July 10. A good number of kids showed up to play games and so go swimming and eat. Pastor Camc's message was on facing the facts, with scripture from Il Corinthians 4: 7-18. Some have no sense of eternity, he said. Sometimes people have no reality because they are immature. Marriages, he said have fallen apart because of this. The reality of sin needs to be set aside, Pastor Came said. We think that if something is accepted by the community then it is all right. Everyone is doing it but often the consequences are devastating. Pastor Carne said, "Christians must face the reality of death and prepare for it. Sometimes they pretend that death will not happen, but it docs." "Then there is the reality of salvation," he said. "Some cannot sec that God can make a new creation of a person." The congregation is sorry to report that John Stoll is in hospital. They pray that God will touch him and that he will be home soon.
