East Wawanosh graduates visit Ottawa

teaching us math but also keeping
us awake. I’m not sure which job
would be more difficult.
In English class Mrs. Gross
taught us about the English
language, grammar and proper
spelling. You can always see her
caring personality in the class or
when you meet her in the halls.
As it was nearing the end of
Grade 7 we couldn't wait until
Grade 8. We heard many good
things about Grade 8 and our
teacher Mr. B. It was everything we
expected and more. Our last year
here at East Wawanosh proved to
be a great one.
The money we fundraised went
toward our trip to Ottawa. We
stayed for three days and saw many
different things, learned some
interesting facts and had a lot of
fun. (Although a couple of people
were sick from the amount of junk
food we ate and lack of sleep).
This year we struggled through
weeks of hard work to prepare for
our play The Pirates of Penzance
which turned out to be a great hit.
Most of us worked hard to get
our homework assignments done
each night. Mr. B. has always been
known for the amount of
homework he gives. He has tried to
convince us that he doesn't do this
to be cruel but for our own benefit.
Some of us still aren't too sure
about that but he's probably right
since he's older and wiser.
When we ran into something we
thought we couldn't do he always
had the confidence in us to push us
further and never to let us give up.
No only was Mr. B. our teacher
but also a friend. We could always
go to him about any problems we
had and he always had great advice
to give. Thanks Mr. B. for always
being there for us.
I'd like to say thanks to all our
teachers we've had throughout the
years for putting up with us and
who never gave up on us. It's been
great knowing our teachers were
always there when we needed
them.
During the last nine years of our
lives there has been a bond made
between us all, because of the times
we have shared - the good and the
bad. I know when we leave here
and move on to high school where
each of us will begin a new life
with new friends, our bonds loosen
but never break because our
memories together here at East
Wawanosh will last a lifetime.
I wish the best of luck to my
classmates as we move on with our
lives.
Brussels student writes poem on friendship

Jason Walker fell up a hill.
Kevin White let two dogs and a
cat into the school over a period of
nine years.
Lisa Gilkes started her TV
career, when she sang on Romper
Room.
Jeremy Clark ripped up his
detention package - today.
And who could forget the look
on Mrs. Perrie's face, when we
threw her into the pool.
I'm sure most of us are happy at
the thought of leaving Brussels
Public, and moving on to a bigger
and more exciting Madill. But there
are some of us who will miss the
security of a small school where we
know everybody and everybody
knows us.
I know I'll miss having all the
little children looking up to us,
wondering what it must be like to
be in Grade 8. Instead, we'll be the
little kids looking up to the Grade
12s and 13s and getting shoved into
lockers.
And what have we done to
deserve this? Nothing...except
graduate from Grade 8.
In closing, I'd like to read this
poem by Lisa Gilkes.
A Friend
A friend is someone you can trust,
A friend is someone who is good
at listening.
A friend is. good at giving advice,
A friend is someone you can talk
to when you feel down.
A friend is someone you can tell
your deepest secrets to.
A friend is someone who is good
at giving hugs.
A friend is loyal.
A friend is someone who is
honest.
A friend is someone who cares.
A friend does not fade away.
A friend is always there.
A friend is a friend forever.
Throughout our elementary
school career we have all set goals
for ourselves. Some we have
achieved; some we haven't. It's
important to remember to keep
setting goals for ourselves, and to
keep dreaming!

class and in this school. Over the
years many friendships have been
built. Even though we may be
separating to different schools,
meeting new friends and making
new memories our old friendships
will never die. This class has been
through a lot together. I ALMOST
find myself wishing we could all
stay together in this school forever.
But we must move on. I know
that everyone in our class is very
excited and not to mention a little
nervous about going on to bigger
and better places. There will be
many more new friendships made,
new challenges to face, and many
more goodbyes in our lives.
We will not be afraid of our new
endeavors but will face them
straight on. With the love and
support of our friends and families
we'll make it through the good and
the bad.
At this time I'd like to thank all
the parents for loving us the way
they do. Thank you for raising us to
become strong and independent
individuals, and for being there for
us when we needed you.
Thank you to all the teachers,
although you should be the ones
thanking us for putting up with you
all your bad days. Just kidding! I
really do want to thank you so
much for your knowledge,
guidance and for leading us all in
the right direction. You have been
great!
I'd also like to thank my friends

houseleague sports to keep us out
of trouble at recess.
Most of all I would like to thank
our parents for raising us right and
showing us right from wrong. Hey,
and fellow classmates for being
there and for building so many
great memories that will be with
me forever. I am going to miss all
my fellow classmates deeply and
would like to wish all of them lots
if it weren't for our parents we
wouldn't be here graduating today.
As our last few moments as
Seaforth Public School are coming
to an end and we are closing a
of luck in the future and may all
your goals and dreams for life
come true!
Thank you! Good night! and

small chapter of our lives I would
like to say farewell to all my fellow
classmates and wish them well in
things to come in the future.
Thank you.
