Valedictorian tells of exciting times at SPS
Today we are here to say
farewell to Seaforth Public School,
for all the wonderful days that have
swiftly passed by to this final day
which is graduation. In the next
few moments I would like to tell
you about the exciting times at
Seaforth Public School, as well as
thank some important people in our
lives.
For most of us the big journey
through public school started in
1985. Some of us started school
here in Seaforth and some started in
Walton then moved on to Seaforth
in Grade 4 while others have come
and gone through the years.
As we look back over our years
in public school we remember
many different things we did like
going on trips to Toronto to visit
the Toronto Metro Zoo and this
year we went to Canada's
Wonderland for our graduation trip.
In the primary grades we always
visited Wawanosh Conservation
area.
Every September we marched
down the main street of Seaforth
for the fall fair. I think everyone
enjoyed to see this day come
around because it was a day of fun
and also they got a day off school.
The sporting events, like the
soccer tournament held at Huron
Centennial in Bruce field, and track
and field always were fun filled
days with everyone showing good
sportsmanship. Sometimes we even
won at the tournaments but when
we didn't we still had lots of fun.
The spring or Christmas concerts
were always a frustrating time, with
people forgetting their lines and
missing their cues, but when it was
the night of performance it was
always a hit.
Now after all that you probably
thought all we did was have fun.
Well you're wrong, that was only a
bit of school. The rest of the time
was spent learning formulae for
math and trying to learn verbs and
nouns which some of us probably
just learned what they are this year.
There is one time when you didn't
have to work and that was when
you got sent to the office for
getting into mischief and
sometimes it wasn't even you who
did it.
Before I go I would like to thank
some people. First, I would like to
thank Mr. Millson and Mr. Lyons
for preparing us for high school so
we can have a successful year next
year.
When we get sent down to the
office we usually will come visit
this guy. Mr. Trcmmer has always

been there for us and usually his
punishments weren't too severe.
Now there are a few teachers in
the school who I haven't thanked,
like Mrs. Griffen who taught us
how to play the recorder and Mrs.
Holmes who showed us how to say
words like house in French and
taught us about the past and future
tense. Also there is Mrs. Reynolds
who always organized our
