LondesboroThe news from Compiled by June Fothergill Phone 523-4360 Couple weds July 1 The family of Ruth and Adolph Fangrad had an open house for their parents' 60th wedding anniversary at Shelter Valley Camp at Goderich. Those from Londesboro attend­ ing were Ruth and Allen Shaddick and Jack and Helen Lee. Jack and Helen Lee visited with their daughter Bev in Collingwood. The sympathy of the community is extended to Gail and Harry Lear on the passing of Gail's father, Bill Manning of Huronview. Bill was a former Londesboro resident. Congratulations to Tom Codyre and Dianne Scott, who were married at the manse on Friday, July 1. May they have rpany years of happiness. Congratulations to John and Wendy Lawson of London on the birth of their son, Joseph Edward at London. Congratulations to David and Daren on the birth of their daughter at Stratford General Hospital. Cheerio Club plays cards The June Cheerio meeting was held on Wednesday, June 29. It began at 1 p.m. with lunch at the Hillcrest Restaurant. Members proceeded to the home of June Fothergill for the meeting. June welcomed everyone and read a poem, The Little Flower. The minutes of the May meeting were read and treasurer's report was given by Edythe Beacom. June read an article on content­ ment. Roll call was answered by 10 members and one visitor. Margaret Good had a contest, to guess what was in the parcel. This was won by Ora Bruce. The collection and draw money were taken up. The draw, donated by Vietta Hoggart, was won by Geraldine Dale. Cards were played. Achievers Trewarthas greet at United Clinton and Londesboro 4-H Club held its Achievement Day recently at the Londesboro United Church. Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, July 3 were Doug and Cheryl Trewartha. Ushers were Don and Kitty MacGregor and Katrina. John Jewitt played two pieces on the bagpipes.
