Brandy's Hideaway is "a family place to be." The Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area, found 10 km northeast of Auburn on County Road 22 offers canoeing and fishing for the enthusiast or beginner on the scenic Maitland River. It boasts quiet campsites and private picnicking spots as well as group camping. Shelter Valley Park on Highway 8 east of Goderich caters to the angler with rainbow trout, bass and salmon in the Maitland River. The family park furnishes sporting activities for all ages including horseshoes, shuffleboard and a playground. Falls Reserve Conservation Area can be found just six kilometres east of Goderich off Highway 8. Located on the Maitland River, the grounds offer a beautiful natural setting which provides the perfect surroundings for swimming, fishing and hiking. Geared to family campers, Falls Reserve holds special events throughout the season. Camp sites are available with water and hydro hookups and are situated in both sunny and shady location. Four parks along Highway 21 offer the sand and pebble beaches of Lake Huron as well as specific amenities suited to the vacationer. Located closest to Goderich, Point Farms Provincial Park offers a quiet, wooded area, perfect for nature trails and private walks. Other activities available are golfing, movies and bam dances. Travelling north just eight kilometres from Goderich, Lake Huron Resort has a full range of services. For the children, there are planned activities and a playground and for the swimmer, a choice of both a heated pool and a private beach. The Resort also supplies firewood for campfires, propane, laundry facilities, a recreation hall and a store. Kitchigami Campground also offers hiking, fishing and swimming as well as an old-fashioned general store. The campsites are quiet and shaded, providing a relaxing setting for a warm summer day.
