Wawanosh Mutual donates to Nature Centre Thanks The West Wawanosh Nature Centre received a generous donation recently from West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance. The cheque of $1,000 was presented by Norris Peever, the West Wawanosh general manager, and Mike Rogers, director, left and second from left respectively to Doug Sholdice, Conservation Foundation director, second from right, and Ross Duncan, MVCA general manager. The West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance Company has donated $1,000 to the Maitland Conserva­ tion Foundation (MCF) in support of the Wawanosh Nature Centre. This is the second year they have made a major donation to the Centre. "The Maitland Conservation Foundation would like to thank West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance /or their generous support," noted Vince Judge, MCF Chairman. "Donations allow the Centre to continue to provide high quality environmental education activities for local school groups." The Wawanosh Nature Centre has been operating for 10 years and attracts about 5,000 students annually from Huron, Perth, Bruce and Wellington County schools. The Centre provides opportunities for students to learn about the environment and teaches the need to manage and protect soil and water ecosystems. Activities are available for students from kindergarten through grade ten. The Centre is located on Cone. 6/7, Nature Centre Road, in East Wawanosh Township. The Mait­ land Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) operates the Centre. The Maitland Conservation Foundation is a registered, charitable, nonprofit organization that supports conservation projects undertaken by the MVCA. Graduation Brian Scott Bray, son of Murray & Gladys Bray of R.R. #2, Bluevale graduated on December 20, 1993 from Fanshawe College, London as a Mechanical Engineer Technician (Design). He is employed with LH Resource Management Inc. of Walton. Brian IS a grandson of Glen and Evelyn Bray of Brussels.
