Nobody rained on the Rutabaga Parade Photos by Christina Roulston Taste testing Hillbilly invasion Bev Blair of Blyth tests some of the goods that competed in the baking contest at the Blyth Rutabaga Festival on Saturday. All entries had to have rutabaga as one of the ingredients. Fellow taste-testers Linda Vir, Bev's daughter Kristy Blair, and Brenda McDonald look on. Arabian princess These hillbillies showed up for the fifth annual Blyth Rutabaga Festival parade on Saturday. They did not seem to fare worse for the drizzly weather, but appeared to be enjoying themselves thoroughly. This Arabian princess graced the streets of Blyth this weekend during the Rutabaga Festival. They’re off! Despite the small turn out for the Rutabuggy races on Saturday, these youngsters enjoyed strutting their stuff and trying out their homemade wagons. Keeping time The Seaforth District High School Marching Band entertained the parade goers on Saturday at the fifth annual Blyth Rutabaga Festival. Crafts galore There was much to see and do at the Blyth Rutabaga Festival Saturday for those who braved the weather.
