The scorpion told him that he wouldn't do that because if he did they would both die. The frog thought that over and agreed that it would be the Good Samaritan way. So the scorpion got on the back of the frog and half way there the spider stung him and they both died. Jim had asked the story teller what the story was about. He had said that that was the Middle East - all trust and love lost. Someone needs to bring back that trust and love and the idea of the Good Samaritan and take the 'sling' out of the scorpion. What he has learned in life is how much he doesn't know. That was made very clear to him, he said, when he first went to the Holy Land in '69. He got the title of the message from the name of a book written by his friend, Dr. A.C. Forrest called. The Unholy Land. He said that after listening to the media, he had the impression of Israel being the underdog, a small, helpless country. However after many visits to the land he came to see Israel as powerful and able to defend its borders. He began to study the history of the Holy Land and came to the realization that his sources were woefully inadequate. What he had gotten from his sources, was a lot of propaganda, a mythology which became the truth," he said. Mr. Reed asked what was truth while admitting that he didn't have a monopoly on the truth, he felt he could provide some facts and information that a lot of others didn't have. Then Mr. Reed took the congregation back in history to the time of Abraham and Sarah, to Genesis 12: 11. This was the story Continued on page 13 the Higgins relatives in the loss of their dear sister and aunt Miss Dorothy Higgins of Huronlca, Brussels.
