THE TOWNSHIP OF GREY Attention: Mr. Brad Knight, B.A., A.M.C.T. Clerk-Treasurer RR 3 Brussels, Ontario NOG 1 HO Recently revived on Broadway, Peter Pan...the musical, opens the 23rd season at Huron Country Playhouse playing from June 14 - July 2. Based on one of the fabulous plays of the century by Sir James H. Barrie this musical production has music by Mark Charlap, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, additional music by Jule Styne and additional lyrics by Betty Comden. Starring as Peter Pan will be Leisa Way, who has been previously seen at the Playhouse as Maria in The Sound of Music and Guenevere in Camelot. Mr Way is looking forward to playing a 12- year-old boy after playing a 12- year-old girl in Anne of Green Gables, across Canada, the United States and five Jours to Japan. This is not her first "flight" however. She flew as Wendy in a U.S. tour of Peter Pan that starred Olympic Gold Medalist, Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan and rock 'n roller Long John Baldry as Captain Hook. Playing Peter Pan's arch enemy, the vain and monumentally sinful Captain Hook (and Mr. Darling), will be David Naim, a familiar face to HCP audiences since 1982 and last seen as King Arthur in 92's Camelot. The Darling children who are whisked away to Neverland are played by Cara Hunter (Wendy), Benjamin Canny (John) and Jon- Erik Lappano (Michael). Ms Hunter is making her debut at Huron Country Playhouse following successful runs of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor D reamcoat (starring Donny Osmond) and the Toronto and Canadian National Tour of Les Miserables. Mr. Canny appeared in Gypsy last year at the Stratford Festival and Mr. Lappano appeared in Oliver! and Fiddler on the Roof at HCP last year. Making welcome returns to the Playhouse stage are: Liz Gilroy (Tiger Lily), Sharon Keates (Liza/Starkey), Jeremy Kushnicr (Pirate/Indian), Sanders Whiting (Nana/Jukes) and Valarie Williams (Mrs. Darling/Ostrich/Mermaid). Making their HCP debuts are: Jean-Luke Cote (Indian/Pirate/ Dance Captain), Barbara Foy (Indian/Mermaid), B. Alan Geddes (Pirate/Indian), David Kelly (Noodler), Gerard Mclsaac vrirate/indian), Daniel Nelson (Pirate/Indian), Salvatore Scozzari (Smee) and Danielle Wolstat (Indian/Mermaid). The cast is completed with local adults and 23 area youngsters (aged 7-17) who play Pirates, Indians, Neverland's Lost Boys and Animals. But the big question is who will play Tinkcrbell? This delicate little fairy who makes her presence known and her advice intelligible through iridescent blinks and musical sounds, is still top secret information.
