Entrepreneurs earn award
Judie and David Glen of Glen Farms at RR2 Listowel won
a prestigious award at the 1994 Canadian Fine Foods
Show in Toronto on May 30. The couple run a cottage
industry and won for 'Best Small Booth

Farms, RR 2, Listowel earned a
prestigious award at the 1994
Canadian Fine Foods Show al the
Toronto International Centre on
May 30.
The Glens won the award for the
"Best Small Booth Display" and
were presented with the honour at
the gala reception dinner hosted by
the Canadian Association of
Specialty Foods.
Judie Glen says, "David and I are
just thrilled with the award. We
have been at the show for five
years and our theme this year
'Preserving Cottage Industries'
proves that cottage industries can
hold their own against the large
companies."
"We have put a lot of time into
pushing cottage industries and we
feel it will become more prevalent
slonc lo something bigger," she
says.
"We want to encourage other
people to become involved in
cottage industries. We can be very
polished on a small scale," says
Mrs. Glen.
The Toronto show draws high-
powered international buyers from
around the world and it is a great
networking opportunity.
The Glens are involved in the
production of specialty jams,
preserves, and vinegars and arc
now venturing into new territories
with spices and flavourings.
