Nine students from Blyth Public School proved to be tops in their age groups at the track and
field day held on May 25. The champions were, from back left: Darrell McDougall, tied for

Guest speaker leads parish
On Sunday morning the guest
speaker was Elly Van Bergen of
Exeter United Church and Bernice
Gross was organist. She gave
words of welcome and the
invitation to worship was read
alternately.
The junior choir under the
direction of Shelley Worsell and
Bernice Gross sang an anthem.
Hymn Holy, Holy, Holy was sung.
The children gathered at the front
and Elly told them their story and
the children’s chorus was sung
followed by hymn Sing Ye Praises
to the Father.
Psalm 29 was read alternately
and Elly read the scriptures. Her
sermon was "Turning to the Book
Section".
The offering was received by Bill
Seers and Peter Verbeek and for the
Sunday School brought forward by
Ryan McClinchey and Lauren
Lecomte then dedicated in prayer
and song. Elly gave the closing
prayer and hymn Thou Whose
Almighty Word was sung. The
benediction followed and Amen's
concluded the service.
The Sacrament of Baptism and
Holy Communion will be observed
on Sunday, June 19.
Members are asked for articles to
assist at Camp Menesetung. Call
Joyce Bean for the listing and
particulars.
There will be a UCW Campsight
Experience held June 6 from 9:30 -
"3:30 p.m. at Camp Menesetung.
The speaker will be Barb Hicks on
"All Porcupines have Soft
Tummies". Bring a lawn chair, pot
luck lunch, mugs, plates, cutlery
and a Bible.

M. Daer hosts WMS meeting
The final meeting of the
Presbyterian WMS was held at the
home of Martha Daer. Martha
welcomed all and read a poem,
Pless this House. A hymn was said.
Frances Clark had the devotional
and led in the reading of verses 17-
22 of Exodus 13 after which she
had a very interesting devotional.
Marion Haggitl had the Study.
The roll call was answered by a
verse of scripture. Frances Clark
gave the-treasurer's report. The
minutes of the last meeting were
read by Marion Haggitt. The
collection was taken and dedicated.
A hymn was sung and the
meeting closed with the mizpah
benediction. Lunch was served by
the hostess and an enjoyable half
hour was spent socializing.
Speaker gives inspirational talk
Twenly-thrcc members and
guests of the UCW met on Tuesday
evening, May 24 at the home of
Nancy Park. The theme for the
evening was "Talents".
The worship service was led by
Nancy park and Shelley Worsell.
The guest speaker, Anne Jarvis,
gave an inspirational talk on using
your talents in everyday life, and
also loaming to seek new talents.
Joyce Bean conducted the
business portion of the meeting.
The evening concluded with lunch
and a social time.
