Village reaches agreement with restauranteurs

Blyth council at its May 26 meet
ing reached an agreement with
Randy and Eleanor Babcock, own
ers of Grandview Restaurant, locat
ed at the south end of the village in
Hullett Twp, regarding hookup to
the sanitary sewer.
Subject to approvals from Hullett
and the Ministry of Environment
and Energy, the work will proceed
during the highway reconstruction.
As the village is supplying a ser
vice to a Hullett Twp. ratepayer,
the Babcocks will be required to
pay twice the monthly rate and will
be responsible for long-term main
tenance of the line.

struction through the village is
being held June 1 (tonight).

told council that the meeting would
be very informal and would be of
particular interest to the business
people who will want to know what
to expect when the work is being
done.
Any dog causing a disturbance
for half an hour or longer from 8
a.m. to 10 p.m. or 15 minutes from
10 p.m. to 8 a.m. may result in a
$50-$ 100 penalty to the owners.♦♦♦
The MTO contract for the recon
struction of Hwy 4 was awarded to
Lavis Contracting, RR1, Clinton.
Lavis will be taking the fill from
the site to the fairgrounds for the

new entrance on County Road 25

grounds was acknowledged by

commissioning service at the Bay
of Quinte Conference where Mary
Jane Hobden was ordained. Rev.
Hobden will begin her ministry
with the Belgrave, Calvin-Brick
United Churches Congregations on
July 1 of this year.
