to the big world of 4-H by meeting
members from other parts of their
county and neighbouring counties.
Social recreation activities, line
dancing, soccer baseball, and short
fun activities will fill the day. In
1992, the last time this event was
held, water games were very
popular. Each 4-H member
registered will receive a commem
orative t-shirt and lunch. The cost
for this fun day is $7 with
registrations required
Wednesday, May 25.
4-H members often mention that
one of the most valuable things
they gain from the organization is a
network of friends across the
province, and perhaps even around-
the world. These friendships begin
by participating in 4-H events
beyond the club level. 4-H Fun Fest
is the first big 4-H event that 4-H
members can attend. From this
positive experience, they can
continue to attend special events
such as Members Conference,
Leadership Camp, Careermania,
exchanges, and other special
conferences.
Grey, Bruce and Huron 4-H
members can check their most
recent newsletter, ask their 4-H
leader, or contact the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture, Food and
Rural Affairs for more information.

Twenty-five members were
welcomed to the May meeting of
the Stratford & District Ostomy
Association Chapter by President
Ray Rynor.
During the business part of the
meeting Mr. Rynor requested
members sign a Chapter Petition
(that hopefully will avoid a
membership dues increase of $6
which will be requested by the
United Ostomy Association
Headquarters at the impending
international Conference. To
reduce the writing and preparation
on work by Sybil Rynor and Daisy
Pines, and to reduce paper and
mailing costs, the monthly
Newsletter will now be written and
distributed every second month.
Due to minimal attendance of
members possibly by the
preoccupation with Christmas
activities, all future January
meetings will be cancelled.
The annual closing dinner is
scheduled for June 7 at the Knights
of Columbus Hall. The cost per
person will be $10. Those who
have not already signed up for this
social evening are asked to call Bob
and Daisy Pines at 625-8267 no
later than Monday, May 31. There
will be several draws and other
entertainment as well.
A social and coffee hour
followed with dainties provided by
Bernice Reid of Vama. The 50-50
cash draw was won by Joe Bender
of Tavistock.
