Colborne council views plan
Colborne township Council held
its regular meeting at the Colborne
Township Community Hall on May
3.
Council was advised by an
information package from the
County of Huron that the township
by way of the Waste Management

Knox United Church minister
Rev. Paul Ross conducted the May
8 service and Bernice Gross was
pianist. The Junior Choir sang an
anthem under the direction of
Shelley Worsell and Bernice Gross.
The Invitation to Worship was read
alternately.
Rev. Ross gave the prayers and A
little Child the Saviour Came was
sung followed by conversation and
prayer with the children. The
Children's Chorus was then sung.
Master Plan has four candidate
sites for the proposed county-wide
landfill site. These sites are located
at Part Lot 11 and 12, Cone. 8,
E.D.; Part Lots 7 and 8, Cone. 6,
E.D.; Part Lots 11, 12 and 13,

approval for the proposed plan of
subdivision on Part Block 'A'.
Council authorized and approved
payment of the bills and accounts
in the total amount of $244,595.17
for the month ending April 30 as
supported by the appropriate
invoices.
Clerk John Stewart informed
council that approximately 95 per
cent of the interim tax installment
had been collected to date.
Council made a decision to defer
comment on the application for
consent on property located al Lot
35, Plan 180 until they could
review information from the Huron
County Health Unit. Council
instructed Mr. Stewart to advise the
County of Huron of council's
decision.
Mr. Stewart informed council
that their application to the
Canada/Ontario Infrastructure
program had passed the first
approval stage and final approval

to get the object out. The next part
is the stomach. The food collects
there and acids gather and start to
break down the food. Cows have
one big stomach but it has four
major compartments. All the food
gets compressed and other liquids
are added like water and other
acids. Members then saw a calfs
stomach that had been dried and
shellacked.
They also talked about what
different animals eat.
The second meeting as held on
Tuesday, May 3 at which time they
discussed the achievement program
and fundraising ideas. Dr. Clark
then showed some teeth from
different animals. These were
discussed and members guessed
whether they were from an
omnivore, herbivore or carnivore.
Then they talked about the inside
of a cow's stomach.
They also learned about the
epiglottis, and talked about the
saliva glands. Cows will eat better
with their heads down.
They also talked about canine
teeth and their different uses. Cats
and dogs can get gingivitis. They
can chew on electrical cords and
get flash bums.
The members then opened up a
dog. Dr. Clark cut open its mouth
and showed them the saliva gland.
He then talked extensively about
other parts of the digestive system.
