Clerk John Stewart informed council that approximately 95 per cent of the interim tax installment had been collected to date. They also talked about what different animals eat. The second meeting as held on Tuesday, May 3 at which time they discussed the achievement program and fundraising ideas. Dr. Clark then showed some teeth from different animals. These were discussed and members guessed whether they were from an omnivore, herbivore or carnivore. Then they talked about the inside of a cow's stomach. They also learned about the epiglottis, and talked about the saliva glands. Cows will eat better with their heads down. They also talked about canine teeth and their different uses. Cats and dogs can get gingivitis. They can chew on electrical cords and get flash bums. The members then opened up a dog. Dr. Clark cut open its mouth and showed them the saliva gland. He then talked extensively about other parts of the digestive system.
