County asks for ratepayers’ co-operation Continued from page 1 the first in a series of meetings and we invite you to attend, talk to me or talk to the Planning Committee to get your concerns expressed. No site has been chosen yet and it is not predetermined that one will be, but we hope a suitable site can be found." "When we receive the land owner's permission to walk his property and to put down test drills, it is only then that sites can be eliminated. It is in the landowner's best interest to be present for the walk-on so concerns can be pointed out to the consultants," said Mr. Metzger. "We would like to do the walk-ons as soon as possible and we are asking for permission to do so. Il is hoped that testing can be completed by the end of the year." Some landowners requested a split of permission between the walk-on and drilling. Mr. Metzger said this could be arranged, but that the entire process may be lengthened by doing so. The properly owners were assured that any and all damages sustained by their land and crops would be compensated for by the county. Affected landowners had received an information package outlining the site selection process and what could be expected if their property was eventually chosen. Anyone interested in the informa tion can contact the Huron County Planning Department or copies of the study should be available in most local libraries. The next meetings to discuss other possible sites are set for May 13 at the Dungannon Senior Citizens Centre, May 16 at the Seaforth District Community Centre and May 19 at the Colbomc Twp. Hall.
