Paul Ross conducted the service at Knox United Church and Bernice Gross was organist. It was hymn-sing to start the service followed by the prayers. The children's hymn was Saviour Teach Me Day by Day. The junior choir, under the direction of Shelley Worsell, sang an anthem. Rev. Ross told the children's story. The children's chorus and Morning has Broken were sung. Rev. Ross read the scriptures and hymn For the Beauty of the Earth was sung. Rev. Ross's sermon was "Country Places". The offering was received by Ian Andrews and Peter Verbeek and for the Sunday School by Brett Bean and Lisa Carter, then dedicated in prayer and song. We Plough the Fields and Scatter was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the Benediction and the Amens concluded the service. Next Sunday the congregation will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism. Hort. Soc. meeting, Mon. The Aubum Horticultural Society meeting will be held Monday evening, May 9 at the Community Hall. There will be a plant sale so please bring slips, bulbs and plants. The lunch committee will be Helen Johnston, Maxine Seers and Tena Empey. The Lions Club is holding a Rummage and Bake Sale at the Auburn Community Hall on Saturday, May 7. Marlene Rutledge made the presentation of the Leading Scorer Award to Greg McNevan when the Brussels Bulls honoured their own at the annual banquet and awards night in Brussels Friday.
