The couple is looking forward to meeting and getting to know the residents of Blyth and the surrounding community. Couple brings 20 years experience to business By Janice Becker Twenty years of restaurant expe rience and the enjoyment of meet ing and greeting the people of Blyth are just two of the qualities being incorporated into the newest . business in town. Deb and Scott Fraser of Clinton will be opening the Kountry Kettle Restaurant on Easter Sunday. The business is located in the for mer Tim's Restaurant, on County Road 25 just east of town. Scott and Deb have worked in the food industry for over 20 years, Deb mainly as a waitress while Scott has done everything, with many of the years spent in the kitchen. His most recent employer was the Stratford Olde English Parlour where he held the position of kitchen manager. Deb says, "Scott became very well known for his steaks. He made a name for himself and the Par lour." The couple said they decided to get into the restaurant business on their own because they were tired of the long drive to Stratford and the 16 hour days put into someone else's business. When the building in Blyth became available, they "felt it had a lot of potential. We want to cater to the people of the area, not just the theatre crowd," says Deb. In an effort to do so, the menu will offer a wide range of choices, from sandwiches and hotdogs to steaks and seafood, says Scott. "We hope to meet the needs of those looking for either casual or fine dining." A buffet will also be offered on Wednesdays and Fridays. NOTICE TO VILLAGE OF BLYTH RESIDENTS Due to Friday, April 1st being Good Friday, the regular weekly garbage pickup will be Thursday, March 31st, 1994. Helen R. Grubb, AMCT Clerk Deb says, "Being from the Clin ton area, we hope to become involved in the community; support the theatre and participate in church activities. " "We have received a lot of sup port from the people and the com munity and we feel very optimistic about the endeavor," she says. Deb says, "Kay Hesselwood (the original owner of the building and proprietor of the Triple K) will be supplying the restaurant with homebaked pies and our children Michele, 23, and Jesse, 20, will be helping out on occasion. "We are looking forward to get ting to know the people of Blyth and we want to make them feel comfortable and welcome in the restaurant. We want the community to get to know us as well." The Kountry Kettle will be open, beginning Easter Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sun day. With recycling beginning in the village and Hullett Twp. in early April, Mr. Rinn said that a sugges tion had come from a Bluewater Recycling employee that a charge of $2 on garbage bags would elimi nate any garbage coming from out side municipalities where a fee is already in effect. Mr. Rinn also noted that the fee encourages people to recycle as that will cut back on the number of bags used. Reeve Lee said, however, that he didn't believe a fee would "cause anyone to recycle". Councillor Mason Bailey agreed. "It causes them to cheat." Mr. Rinn said that Hullett Reeve Tom Cunningham and Councillor Tom Duizer had offered to help at the site on the first two Saturdays of the program to monitor how things go. Reeve Lee noted that if there Continued on page 15 Bell's DISCOUNT CENTRE VARIETY VIDEO AND CARD SHOP OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK BLYTH YOUR ONE STOP FAMILY SAVINGS CENTRE Easter Clothing Special Our entire selection of Children's, Ladies* & Men's Clothing 1/3off Infant's Terry Cloth S, M,L Sleepers $4.99 Easter Chocolate Candy in-stock 25% Our everyday low prices Blankets, Pillows, Comforters -VIDEO RENTAL- Easter Special Rent any two movies at regular price and get the 3rd movie rental FREE For your convenience Bell’s Variety now offers Dry Cleaning Services as well as Film Developing which always includes a 2nd set of prints FREE * Bell's > SPECIAL SKF1-*” VIDEO CENTRE I BIG SELECTION • LOW PRICESVIDEO CENTRE night.
