Lee earns
shut-out

Cook pushed the puck around for
the Anderson centres, Matt and
Adam. Not many shots were
allowed past the great defensive
team Darrell McDougall, Drew
Comeil, Joel Arthur, Joey Sykes
and Graham Worsell, who were all
over the Zurich forwards like a wet
blanket.
Game two of the series saw the
Blyth Atom team touring to Zurich
where they played one of their best
games of the year to win 3-0. Goals
were scored by Matt Anderson,
Adam Anderson and Joey Sykes.
With his team, behind him all the
way, "Leaky" Lee was awesome
between the pipes earning a big
shut-out.
Members of this team are Darrell
McDougall, Drew Corneil, Matt
Anderson, Derek Cook, Michael
Bernard, Michael Lyons, Jeremy
Hanna, Adam Anderson, Graham
Worsell, Joey Sykes, Joel Arthur
and Ryan Lee.
The blyth Atom Houseleague
now advance to the finals. Home
games are Wednesday nights at 6
p.m. Come on out and cheer your
team on the victory road as they
play either Huron Park or Belgrave
for the Atom Houseleague

There were many things to do that
were fun. Some of the favourites
were the Tug-o-War, the Toboggan
Races, and the Snow Soccer.
Some more Grade 8 students
organized the BPS Talent Show on
Thursday. Congratulations to
everyone who participated and to
Malinda Exel who won first prize
for playing the piano. Justin Ruttan
and the "Fabulous Five" had the
"Runner-Up" awards.
Yet another congratulations goes
to Cory Bragg and Mandy Sellers
for their efforts in the "Free Throw"
at Stratord. Also we are pleased to
announce that Tricia Teeft spoke
well for her speech on dance
lessons at Seaforth.
Thanks to all the students who
have worked industriously to
produce The Citizen reports.
The school Science Fair will be
held on Thursday, April 7. This
gives everybody time to re-focus
on the Science Fair after the
holiday. We have never seen Mr.
Wanless so excited before about
the Science Fair. There will also be
an Invention Convention.
The Brussels Leo Club is taking
a ski trip to Talisman on March 12.

AUTHORS IN GRADE 2/3
Mrs. Radford's Grade 2/3 class
became authors and illustrators,
making their own books. They put
their own books together with their
new book binding machine. It
makes it fun to make books.
Making books helps them with
their reading, writing and spelling.
HAPPENINGS AT HULLETT
The parent support group from
Hullett Central Public School

school children in a recent meeting.
The group, chaired by Principal
Ron Jewitt, has planned an Aids
Education Seminar to take place
Wednesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m.
at Hullett Central Public School.
Guest speakers Don and Elma
Plant, as well as resource workers
from the Huron County Health Unit
will present general information
about Aids.
Although this session is aimed at
parents, any interested members of
the community are welcome to
attend.
Refreshments will be provided.
Call the school at 523-4201 for
more information.
WHAT'S NEW IN GRADE 8?
The Grade 8 class of Hullett is
participating in a two week
newspaper study as a part of their
English and Math program. The
class receives a London Free Press
for each person. The kids are
learning the main parts of a
newspaper and they are involved in
a number of activities.
This two week period is hoped to
have encouraged the young
generation to be aware of what's
going on in the world, and to
become regular newspaper readers.
GRADE 1/2 CLASS TURNS
GREEN!
Mrs. Bosman's Grade 1/2 class
would like to wish a Happy March
Birthday to Cheryl Wilts who
turned eight on March 11, and to
Sandy Hay whose seventh birthday
was March 15.
Their class celebrated St.
Patrick's Day early by having a
Green Day on March 10. They all
dressed in green, wrote on green
paper, made lists of green things,
tasted green food and made cut
leprechauns. It was a great day.
They hope everyone has a good
holiday in the March Break.
RIDE 'EM COWBOYS
The Grade 3/4s at Hullett
recently made sourdough starter as
part of their cowboy unit. After
March Break they will be using the
starter to make sourdough biscuits.
