Lyons finished off a solo rush with the sight of the red light and Datema saw two of his breakout passes result in Blyth goals. The "Leekster" nabbed every thing in sight until a late third period shot eluded him to break his shutout attempt. Blyth returned to the Port on March 13 where they faced the London LMHA Thunder #2 in game two. Michael deJong provid ed the shutout goaltending and the line of Heffron, Howson and McNichol provided the offence as the Midgets blanked the city slickers 3-0. The line scored early as well as late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead after one. Heffron opened the scoring with an assist to McNichol and then McNichol scored late in the period with assists to Heffron and Howson. McNichol secured Player of the Game honours with a power play goal midway through the second period with linemates Heffron and Howson once again earning the assists. Although the Thunder outplayed Blyth in the third, the defence tightened up to help deJong preserve his shutout and give Blyth the 3-0 win. This win enabled Blyth to win their round robin grouping which rendered their final round robin game meaningless. Lucan provided the opposition and they took a 4-3 second period lead and put the game out of reach with four unanswered third period tallies in humbling Blyth 8-3. Lucan took a 2-0 lead before McNichol, assisted by Heffron and Howson, put Blyth on the board late in the first. The teams traded two goals each in the second frame which gave Lucan a 4-3 lead after two. Heipel set up Peter Craig for a power play goal early in the period as Craig finished off a rink length dash with a bullet of a shot. The pair teamed up with Chamney late in the period for Blyth's third goal. Heipel put a shifty deke on the Lucan puck stopper for the score and impressed everyone in attendance to earn Player of the Game honours.
