Mrs. Lillian Hallam filled in for
Rev. Ross for a portion of the
service while he was at Huronview.
Nancy Park was organist.
Lillian gave the church
announcements and the invitation
to worship was read alternately.
Hymn "Jesus Loves Me" was sung.
Lillian gave the Countdown to
Easter - The Lenten Trail, and
Ryan McClinchey snuffed out the
candle. The children's chorus
"Jesus Loves the Little Children"
was sung.
Rev. Ross read the scriptures.
UCW decorates baskets
At 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21
the Aubum UCW met at die church
with a good attendance. Tables
were set up and everyone got busy
creating and decorating baskets. A
lovely assortment was made.
The instructors, who certainly
were of great assistance, were
Joyce Bean and Brenda Empey.
Joyce also conducted a short
business period. A list of many
things needed by Camp
Menesetung was given to everyone.
Brussels
The Brussels Curling Club
hosted a mixed bonspiel on Feb.
26.
On the 9:30 a.m. draw, prizes
were awarded to: first, 48 points -
Bill Young, Jeanette Young, Ezra
Kuepfer and Barb Kuepfer; second,
37 points - Abe Versteeg, Cheryl
MacDonald, Janet Ireland and
Nancy Exel; third, 32.5 points -
Orval Bauer, Ruth Bauer, George
Wicke and Elaine Wicke; fourth,
32 points - Brad Knight, Linda
McDonald, Jim McDonald and
Rhonda Fischer; fifth, 29 points -
Andrew Exel, Sylvia Van Dongen,’

Atoms get shutout effort

Scoring for Belgrave were Tim
Robinson, two, Matt Snow and
Kevin Hopf. Assists went to Snow,
two, Robinson, Mathew Cameron
and Aaron Bakker.
With a good game in goal allow
ing only one was Travis Campbell.
On Feb. 24, in the first playoff
game Elma-Logan was shut-out,
while the home team skated away
with five.
Goalie Aaron Bakker earned the
shutout.
David Wray and Robinson each
Hymn "Author of Faith" was sung.
Rev. Ross read for his sermon "A
Difficult Decision for Nathan ben
Elias". He gave the prayers to God
and the Lord's Prayer was read in
unison.
The offering was received by
Greg Park and Michael Bakker and
for the Sunday School by Charlotte
Worsell and Charles Millian, then
dedicated in song.
"My Song is Love Unknown"
was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced
the Benediction and Amens
concluded the service.
Donations will be collected and
donated to camp in May.
The UCW is invited to
Londesboro for the World Day of
Prayer on March 4 at 1:30 p.m.
A soup and sandwich lunch will
be held at the church on Sunday,
March 13 following the service.
Family entertainment will follow.
Quilting day is coming on March
9. Come at 9:30 a.m. and bring a
bag lunch. Dessert will be
provided. There are a number of

had a good night tallying two each
and an assist, while Snow lit the
light for the fifth Belgrave goal.
Hopf also earned an assist.
On Feb. 26 the Atoms eliminated
Elma-Logan in the second game
with a second shutout victory.
Shutout honours went to goalie
Travis Campbell. Getting the seven
goals for Belgrave were Black,
with two, Fenton, Wray, and a hat
trick for Robinson. Assists were
earned by Wray, two, Tom Mullin,
two, Hopf, Cameron and Snow.

euchre
There were six tables in play at
the euchre party held at the Auburn
Community Hall on Tuesday
evening, Feb. 22. Winners were:
ladies' high, Marjorie East; low
lady, Feme Howatt; men's high,
Ted East; low man, Ell Lapp and
novelty prize, Harold McClinchey. •
Euchre is played every Tuesday
evening at 8 p.m.

M. Haggitt hosts WMS
The monthly meeting of the
Auburn Presbyterian WMS was
held at the home of Marion
Haggitt. President Martha Daer
opened the meeting with a poem
entitled "Each Year". Frances Clark
had the devotional. Psalm 100 was
read in unison. The meditation was
based on "Make a joyful noise unto
the Lord". Psalm 93 was also read.
Martha had the Study. The title
was "How to be a Romantic
