Clinton Hosp.
Board meets
The Clinton Public Hospital
Board heard the first report from
the Accreditation Committee as
they prepare for the May survey.
The report, presented at the Jan.
31 meeting, said the committee has
spent time reviewing information
relating to the profiles of the two
surveyors, the rating scale and
items included in the standards and
questionnaires.
Each department has received
questionnaires and preliminary
feedback is expected soon, said
board member Shelley McPhee-
Haist.
The finance committee received
approval from the board for three
capital purchases.
As part of the hospital's recycling
program, authorization was given
for the purchase of a paper shedder
and stand at a cost of $2,817.50.
The dietary department will
acquire a steam table with a price
tag of $1,502.28.
Computer upgrading hardware
will be purchased for the laboratory
in the amount of $1,949.25.
The financial statement showed a
year-to-date surplus of $129,356,
with $15,500 being added in
December.

breathing, etc. Margaret Whitmore,
Patty Banks, Ruth Axtmann and
Lillian Raithby all from the Walton
area attended the Saturday event.
The chorus is now working on
their songs for the May competition
and also for the men's Spring show.
Stanley Hillen went home to
celebrate his 90th birthday. The
century farm where he was bom is
now owned by his daughter and her
husband Margaret and Bruce
Whitmore. Margaret and Bruce
hosted a family dinner for the
celebration of her dad's birthday.
She said that he is a young 90 year
old who enjoys good health and
was very delighted to visit with the
30 people that were there that day.
So often at Church meals you see
only women in the kitchen doing
all the work That's why on Sunday
at the pancake breakfast it was such
a treat to see a number of men
helping out. Graeme Craig, using
his secret family hot-cake recipe,
was busy mixing the batter while
over at the stove Howard Hackwell
was doing a very fine job of
cooking the sausages. There were
two skillets full of delicious
flapjacks being expertly flipped by
Paul McCallum and Barry Hoegy
(dressed in suits even). The egg
cooking was handed over to Heidi
McClure this year while Rev.
Banks was delegated to running the
toaster. In charge of the whole
affair was Jo-Ann McDonald.
It was well attended and not one
complaint about the food was
heard. Well done everyone.
