Organizers say there were approximately 150 riders and 400 poker hands sold. The ride covered 65 kilometres, running through Londesboro, Auburn and Westfield then heading south towards Brussels before returning to Blyth. Students entertain seniors About 30 Blyth Swinging Seniors met in the Memorial Hall at 12 noon for a pot luck dinner. Following this, several pupils from Blyth Public School provided entertainment for the Seniors. Cappy and Teague Onn delighted everyone with violin solos and duets naming each rendition. Three girls from the school also gave a Blyth sample of their gymnastics. The seniors enjoyed this very much. President John Hesselwood then opened the business meeting with "O Canada" and a lively sing-song followed led by Harv McDowell and Millar Richmond. Phyllis Boak accompanied at the piano. "Happy Birthday" was sung to Ella Richmond and Jean Plaetzer for their December birthdays and and Dorothy Daer for her January birthday. Dorothy and Bert Daer also celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in January. The usual reports were given and following this a minute's silence was observed in memory of departed members. After some business discussions, John read a poem "Beat Them All": and then dismissed the meeting. Cards and crokinole followed.
