snowmobiling party, after which
Marie served a delicious hot lunch.

"Mabel's Moms" met at the home
of Mabel Wheeler on Wednesday
morning. Present were Lila Procter
and Ben; Donna Kellington and
Brandon; Andrea Stevenson,
Mathew and Tyler; Waneta
Leishman and Melissa; Sherry
Taylor and Brandon; and Janet
Koehler and Derek with Trever
Raynard. This week's topic was
Guardianship of our children, a
very difficult subject to think and
talk about but also a very important
one. Mabel served coffee and
cookies and both the children and
the moms had a nice hour
socializing.
On Monday, Jan. 10, the School
and Community Association met at
East Wawanosh Public School. A
few of the objectives of this group
are to establish an atmosphere of
co-operation between the three
partners in education; students,
parents, and educators; to encour
age and facilitate communication
between home and school and to
provide opportunities for advocacy
of parental concerns for adult
volunteers to work with students,
for special projects to supplement
classroom learning and for
fundraising activities to support
these projects.
Steve Hamill of Holmesville,
who is the past chairman of their
parent support group, shared ideas
and gave insight into what a group
like this can achieve, and how it
can benefit our most important
resource, our children.
Interesting move
It was a different kind of faceoffs when these two players competed in the Blyth Oldtimers
broomball tournament this past Saturday. Ten men's and two ladie's team took part in the
event which raised funds for Junior Broomball.
