PAGE 17. bituaries ■ • : I IAN MARSHALL Ian Marshall passed away at the Jewish General Hospital in Quebec on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1993. He was 54. He was the dear father of Brian, Stephen and Donald. Mr. Marshall is survived by his sisters Mary, Jessie, Betty and Edith and brother William. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m.at the Betts Funeral Home, Brussels. Donations to the Canadian Can­ cer Society would be appreciated. SUSANNAH LATTIMER Miss Susannah Lattimer of Oakville, formerly of Blyth, passed away at Oakville-Trafalgar Memo­ rial Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1993. Miss Lattimer was bom in Moos- min, Saskatchewan in 1904 to the late Archibald and Elizabeth (Craig) Lattimer. She spent her life as an elemen­ tary school teacher and attended the United Church of Canada in Oakville and Blyth. Miss Lattimer is survived by sev­ eral cousins. She was the dear friend of Norman, Marilyn and Toby Young of Oakville and Mar­ garet and Donald Kai of Wingham. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Lattimer, in infancy. Rev. Jock Tolmay officiated at the service at the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes, Blyth on Dec. 23. There will be a spring interment at Blyth Union Cemetery WILLIAM JAMES MCCALL William James McCall of RR1, Blyth, died at Clinton Public Hos­ pital on Dec. 22, 1993. Mr. McCall was bom in Morris Twp. 79 years ago. On Sept. 30, 1944 he married the former Effie M. Nelson. He farmed in Hullett Twp. Mr. McCall was a member of Blyth United Church. Besides his wife those left to mourn his passing are his children David of Lambeth and Susan and Bert Buffing a, RR1, Blyth. He will be sadly missed by three grandchil­ dren Darwin, Sabrina and Duane Buffinga. Mr. McCall is survived as well by a sister, Clara (Mrs. John Perry) of Cranbrook and a brother Allan McCall of Walton. He was predeceased by is parents William Alexander and Letitia McCall, a daughter Charlotte Anne, sisters, Mary Young and Hattie Snell and a brother George McCall. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jock Tolmay at Blyth Unit­ ed Church on Dec. 24 at 2 p.m.. Pallbearers were Bill Young, John Perry Jr., John Sanderson, Frank Van Steelandt, Harvey McDowell and James Walsh. Spring interment will be at Blyth Union Cemetery. ANNA BAKER At Burlington, Ont. on Friday Dec. 24, 1993, Anna Baker, for­ merly of Brussels, in her 105th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Baker and devoted mother of the late Michael Baker, his late wife Mary and the late flight lieutenant Peter Baker, RCAF. Mrs. Baker is survived by her adored grardchildren: Marianne MacArthur (Angus) of Burlington, Michael Baker (Arlene) of Hamil­ ton and Peter Baker (Rikki) of North Bay. She will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Melanie, Michelle, Jarrod and Courtney Baker. A private family service was held. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the charity of your choice, in Mrs. Baker's memory would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements were under the direction of the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, Hamilton, Ont. JEAN MARY AGNES HIGGINS Jean Mary Agnes Higgins passed away suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993 at Stratford General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Alvie Higgins. Mrs. Higgins was the loving mother of Mary and Don Edgar of Allenford, Jack and Marilyn Hig­ gins of Brussels, Bob Higgins of Blyth, Ann and Gerald Ward of St. Marys and the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Jack Noble of Hanover. Rev. Carolyn MacAvoy officiat­ ed at the service which was held on Dec. 29 at Betts Funeral Home, Brussels. There will be a spring interment at the Brussels Cemetery. The Rebekah Lodge held a memorial service on Tuesday, Dec. 28. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Melville Church would be appreci­ ated. ZACHERY WOOD Zachery Wood passed away sud­ denly at St. Joseph's Hospital in London on Friday, Dec. 31, 1993. He was the beloved son of Michelle Latronico and Daren Wood of Gorrie and the loving grandson of Murray and Donna Latronico of Gorrie and George and Eileen Gill of Ethel. Zachery was the loved great grandson of Bob and Margaret Fer­ guson of Gorrie, Jean Latronico of Wingham, Violet Wood of Listow- el and the late Mildred Gill. Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiated at a private family service which was held on Jan. 2 at Betts Visitation Centre in Gorrie. Donations to the neonatal unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, 268 Grovenor Street, London, Ont M6A 4V2 would be appreciated by the par­ ents and families of Zachery. ROY WILLIAM DAER Roy William Daer of RR 1 Auburn passed away on Dec. 31, 1993 at Huronview in Clinton. He was in his 87th year. Mr. Daer was born in Hullett Twp. to the late John "Henry" and Lena (Schaffer) Daer. He was a farmer in Hullett Twp. and attended the Presbyterian Church in Goderich. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, the former Martha Brodhagen. Mr. Daer was the dear father of Ruth and Donald Dewar of Atwood, Gordon Daer of RR 1 Auburn, Alvin and Janet Daer of Goderich, Shirley Rolston of Lon­ don and Marilyn and Brian Wallace of Dorchester. Mr. Daer will also be sadly missed by his seven great grand­ children. He was predeceased by his broth­ er Clarence Daer. Rev. David Nicholson, of Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich officiated at the Jan. 3rd service, held at the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes, Blyth.
