Against Goderich, Blyth played catch up hockey throughout and almost tied the contest in the dying moments. Goderich built a 2-0 first period lead but Blyth knotted the score with two goals in the first minute of the second period. Ben Hakkers and Brian McNichol assisted on the opening power play goal as Christopher Howson scored on a tip in. Nineteen seconds later Wilfred Datema assisted on the tying goal as Ryan Chamney finished off a rink length dash by cashing in his own rebound. Although Goderich took the lead again three minutes later Blyth quickly tied the game once more. While killing penalty Jason Heipel stole the puck deep in the Goderich zone and fired on the net. Chamney glided in and snapped the rebound upstairs. Goderich took a 5-3 lead before the lead which set up an entertaining third frame. The play alternated ends throughout the period and Blyth inched to within a goal with just under six minutes to play. While on a power play, Heipel set up Datema's blueline blast which found nothing but twine behind a screened Goderich puckstopper. Although Blyth had plenty of opportunities to tie the game, a strong opposition defence thwarted their every attempt and Goderich left town with a hard Brussels Arena Sun.
