Cultivation and weeding of beds • Patio and sidewalk cleaning/washing • Parking lot and curb cleaning • Tree pruning and planting • Winter months will consist of snowplowing and shoveling walkways REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must: • Work up to 5 days - 40 hours per week (full-time) & 20 hours per week (part-time) weather dependent as scheduled, may include weekends • Working outside in all weather conditions • Work day can begin before 7:00 am • Work with minimum supervision • Report for work every day required, on time and in appropriate clothing • Lifting and carrying alone a maximum of 50 lbs. (10 - 35 lbs usual), as a minor job function • Lifting with assistance, maximum 100 lbs. (20 - 60 lbs. usual) as a minor job function • Considerable standing, walking, kneeling and bending • Pushing/pulling contents that weigh a maximum 150 lbs., (70 - 100 lbs. usual) as a minor job function • Ability to operate powered equipment • Good communication, organization, and a good attitude are essential • Full G License – copy of current Motor Vehicle Record required with application EXPERIENCE: • Education in horticulture and or arboriculture is an asset, but not necessary • Operation of agricultural equipment (tractor & mower, etc.) is an asset, but not necessary Job Type: Full-time and Part-time, contract. September 1 to August 31st annually, starting ASAP.
