A special birthday party was held
on Tuesday, July 23 at Knox United
Church, Belgrave. Church members
and community members were
honoured for achieving the status of
octogenarian. This is the age of 80 or
more years young. A variety
program of jokes, trivia, readings
and music was enjoyed.
Two honoured guests shared in
cutting the special birthday cake:
Ruth Alton and Grace Procter. Cake
and strawberries were served to
everyone and a time of visiting and
reminiscing was the finishing touch
for an enjoyable afternoon.
Bill Coultes is now a resident of
Maitland Manor Nursing Home in
Goderich, the address is 290 South
Street. If you are shopping in
Goderich, he would like a visit. The
community wishes Bill all the best at
his new place of residency.
The hot lunch will be on
Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 11:30 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at the Belgrave
Community Centre. Everyone is
welcome. No advance tickets are

The Campbell relatives gathered at
the Ball Park pavillion in Belgrave
on a hot, sunny, summer day for
their annual picnic on July 28. This
year’s picnic was hosted by Sharon
and Barry Bondi and Sandra and
Peter Brommer and family. Peter
said the grace and everyone enjoyed
a delicious buffet dinner. After the
meal, the children enjoyed playing
on the playground equip-ment and
games and prizes were awarded to
the winner of each game.
The winners of guessing the two
jars of candy were Scott Campbell
and Lori Campbell; the oldest but
young-at-heart prize was awarded to
Don Campbell (age 89), the
youngest went to Jackson Campbell
(14 months).
The afternoon was spent visiting,
reminiscing and a few photos.
Thanks to Barry and Sharon and
Peter and Sandra and family for
doing an excellent job hosting. An
enjoyable afternoon was brought to a
close with goodbyes and hugs and a
safe trip home.
The next community coffee break
is on Aug. 13, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in
the Belgrave Community Centre.

Noble in the loss of Donald’s
brother; Kenneth Noble of Gorrie,
who passed away on July 15.

Science in Biomedical Engineering
from the University of Waterloo. He
is employed at Nicoya Lifesciences
Inc. in Kitchener.
